Hello and welcome! I’m Joe, a photographer based in Tokyo.
I’ve always been fascinated by the diversity of the world, which led me to travel through countries such as Spain, Mexico, Argentina, Thailand, Korea, Japan, and China. Meeting people with different backgrounds and learning about their cultures has shaped who I am today.
Before becoming a photographer, I spent four years working in marketing and sales at LG Electronics in Korea. In early 2017, I decided to leave the corporate world to pursue something that truly inspired me. Shortly after, I headed to Spain and walked the Camino de Santiago — a 30-day journey of nearly 20 km a day. That time allowed me to reflect deeply on my past, my goals, and the life I wanted to build.

During that pilgrimage, I wrote essays and captured countless photos, which later became a small photo book. Creating it by myself brought me so much joy that I continued producing photo books and zines after moving to Japan.

Back when I was in Seoul, I often photographed travelers visiting Korea. I even appeared on a TV show that introduced young people turning their passions into a career. (I also appear in the clip!)
Meeting people from around the world and exchanging stories is something I genuinely love. It naturally led me to begin taking photos for international visitors in Tokyo as well. As a fan of Japanese cinema and animation, I try to capture moments with a cinematic, film-like mood.
Now, I work as a full-time photographer, mainly guiding photo tours for visitors from overseas. I feel grateful every day that my job is something that brings me joy and allows me to do what I truly love.
I hope my photos resonate with you. Enjoy your time in Tokyo!
